What? No Internet?! Trade Off For Paradise

Hello dear friends! As many of you will know if we chat on Twitter, I am now on holiday in Asia. Malaysia to be exact. Problem is that my parents moved into their beautiful home and being a newly built home in the middle of nowhere, there's no phone line nor is there internet! So whilst waiting for my Significant Other to join me, I have been watching downloaded shows such as Downton Abbey (OMG! This is brilliant!), The Vampire Diaries and Miranda. But after 3 days I can no longer bear it! My bones are aching from lack of activity so I hitched a ride from Dad to the nearest Starbucks to use the free Wifi signal and not a second sooner! The conclusion of this little experiment is that I am no good not doing anything and am a total slave to technology and modern living! I have a few hours to get my fix of internet and modern living before Dad swings by to get me on his way home from running errands! So this is just a short little post to say hi and to stay connected to all of you guys and a little special hello and big thank you to my saviour Starbucks! Thank you!

Disclaimer: I might be exaggerating a little. My parents live in a very cosmopolitan city but it's a bit out of the way if you don't drive and the bit about no internet is very very real and true!

  2. Awww, Kenneth, I wondered where you were! You enjoying Vampire Diaries? I cried twice in series two. Obviously Downtown is great as well, but sadly no Salvatore brothers in that! Have a fab holiday xx

  9. I was the same in Egypt, there was internet there but I only spent half an hour on in the 2 weeks I was there, and that was to check my email to follow up another post I had made. I quite liked it, but did miss it and was glad to get back home so I could make full use of my phone, tab and computer (oh and my TV haha)!

Where in Malaysia are you? We went to Kuala Lumpur last year, loved it. x

  10. @Rebecca: I will soon! Missing you! Xx

@Claire: We're off to KL this weekend and can't wait! Lol thank god for free wifi at coffee shops and our iPads! Says a lot about us as people when we miss all our technological luxuries whilst on holiday eh? Xx

  11. Hahaha, I know... you wouldn't think that you relied on them so heavily, until you find yourself basically cut off! If you fancy mexican whilst you're in KL then do try www.lascarretas.com - I had a great meal there when I was in KL. Also there's a Fish Spa in the Pavillion (mall in KL), plus the Batu Caves and the elephant sanctuary (they're a a bit out of KL from what I remember) that are worth a visit!

We loved Jalan Alor amd Jalan Bukit Bintang for foody areas too! Arrrgh I wish I was out there too, I really miss the place!! How long are you out there for? xx

  12. @Claire: Haha you're quite the expert! We're definitely heading to Jalan Alor for my favourite stall there! As for Mexican, we tend to love local foods when we visit. We're in KL for the weekend then back to JB on sun then UK on Tues. I have a spa appointment in The Mandara at Renaissance Hotel booked so can't wait! We're just going to take it easy really. Xx

  16. @sky@laestetica: Haha it wasn't as bad as I posted. I was just a touch dramatic. I was in Johor and while in KL I found free wifi everywhere especially the cafes and malls! Thanks! x
