Tangle Teezer: Hair Alert!

I have countless girl friends who swear by this little piece of plastic/rubber. Being the stubborn mule that I am, I was sceptical and refused to get myself one, although I did start to wane when I saw that hair guru Sam McKnight loved it as well so that was that!
After a week of looking at it on my dressing table and hesitating, I finally had a go today. What? Being brought up with countless beauty manuals saying not to brush hair whilst wet has made me really cautious. My hair is my pride of joy but maybe it's Bank Holiday Monday that's given me an extra pair so I decided to bite the bullet.

Oh My Goodness! What genius!

I usually spend about 5 mins or so detangling after washing my hair but the Tangle Teezer slid through my wet hair like a hot knife through butter! No tugs, no tangles! I don't know how it does it but it does. I even went it the opposite direction and tried tangling my hair on purpose (what is wrong with me?) and it still did a remarkable job of detangling.

Looking at the site, it claims to reduce hair breakage, splitting and damage due to less mistreatment of your hair. And I really do believe it!

You can buy them online here for £12.24 for the Compact Styler (one above) or £10.20 for the Original Tangle Teezer. They also come in a variety of gorgeous colours.

  2. We love these! I was also a little skeptical at first (thought my hairdresser was giving me too much of a hard sell!) but after buying one, we now have 5 in the house, in all the different colours, and at least three came with us on holiday this year!

They look like they should really hurt, but aren't they just a revelation!
I bet you won't travel without it!
    xx

  11. I've got afro caribbean hair that is chemically processed straight - will it still work? . . .

  12. @Hair and Beautylicious: Hi! I definitely think it will work as the fact that it detangles so efficiently without any tugging means less breakage and you know that for chemically processed hair, that is a nightmare! I would definitely give it a go! Thanks for the comment! x

  13. I have the Aveda paddle brush which coped admirably with my hair when it was waist length, however this always gets such great reviews and with a few Boots points adding up I may just be tempted. Thanks for this.

  15. I love my tangle teaser. Like you, I put off getting one thinking it couldn't be all that good, but I use it everyday now. It's great at dispersing product evenly through the hair too!

  16. I've been tempted to get one for a long time. I'm shocking for brushing my hair when wet and ending up with a brush full of snapped hair. Oops! It doesn't help that tiddler has taking to biting and pulling my hair. I'll be bald by Christmas at this rate. Thanks for the reminder.

@ModestyBrown: You're very welcome Jane. I'm such a procrastinator too so you're not alone! Hope you have hair left and that the little'un stops with the hair biting and pulling! Thanks for the comment! x
