Insight My Kit: Barbados: So Many Products, So Little Luggage Space!

I am sure you're quite tired of hearing about my upcoming work trips to Barbados and also Mauritius. I apologise for that, I get quite excited about location shoots abroad as they result in a very different vibe. The light, weather, climate, textures and skin all change according to the surrounding. So it is a nightmare to actually pack for work trips. All the products that I use in cold, wet London all of a sudden might not work that well in the tropical climate of the Caribbean!

I have spent most of today going through all my products, trying to decide whether they make it into my limited luggage limit or not. I have taken out, put back in, tested, contemplated and repacked my kit countless times. I think I have it finalised, I think...

Face Prep
Complexion
Eye Colour Products
Mascara
Pencils
Cheek Colour
Lips
Body
Extras (aka extras that I can't do without usually)

This is the 5th attempt and it is now 16:17 and I have not included my extra bag of lip colours, nail polishes, disposables such as tissues, cotton wool pads and buds and not forgetting my emergency first aid kit. Don't laugh, every trip someone always needs painkillers, anti histamine, bandages and plasters! Now all that's left to be done is to pack my clothes, toiletries and footwear and that's a whole other drama that I probably won't blog about!

If there's anything in the photos you want to know about, please feel free to comment and ask. I shall be most pleased to explain and name the product. I'm pretty confident this kit will allow me to do almost any look I can muster up in sunny Barbados. I think...

  4. I have no idea why the pencils are making me laugh, I think its because its more than double the pencils I own, never mind what I'd take for a trip away. Even though I know they aren't for your face. Loving all the plastic wallets of YSL! Have a fab trip x

    1. Haha well I'm a professional innit?! I'm just an obsessive who panics about not having the right texture of black pencil! Crazy I know but hey I get the job done. Hehe my OCD packing of same brand products! Thanks I'll speak to you when I'm back! x

  5. Love this post! So great to see products in there and think 'I have that'! Means I am nearly ready to go to a hot sunny climate! (Well in my dreams!! In reality I am in rainy England!!) Seriously though- some great products in here- would be very interesting to see what ones you found performed well (and which ones didn't) when you get back? Might make summer travel packing easier for all of us stuck here in rainy england!!

Have a great trip and hope no-one needs your emergency first aid kit! xx

  10. Smart and brilliant packing. I loved the way u organised everything and its funny to rethink so much. I do the same thing and then panic coz I haven't got a that brown I wanted and then crib about it throughout the day. Have learnt to pack light with a hope that it works. Btw are those Inglot eyeshadows in the pans? And also Inglot blushes?

    1. Haha yes luggage limit is a pain but we make do. No I don't really use any Inglot products, no reasons why but I didn't really get the textures when I tried it tears ago.

    2. Same here but now a days their formula is really improved dramatically...its as soft and buttery as MAC...I would suggest just eyeshadows though....liked nothing else from the brand.

  11. Btw u must try MAC's zoom fast lash mascara. Its the blackest I have come across and even if it clumps ridiculously u still end up getting fatty lashes. Any ideas on Laura Mercier's full volume mascara?
