Latest Kit Acquisitions: Skin!

I apologise for the recent blog silence. As always work has been crazy but add to that trying to sort out personal matters, it really doesn't leave much time for blogging. Saying that all is well and I am busier but also happier than ever. Let's not waste time talking shall we? I wanted to bring attention to some recent launches that as a MUA excite me, a lot!

Sisley Gentle Makeup Remover
Finally one of my favourite brands launches their contribution to micellar cleansers! Totally botanical and gorgeous, this huge bottle with a clever press-down pump smells and feels lovely. I've just received it so will be doing a review as soon as I use it at work.

RRP £69.00 for 300ml.

Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup
When I first got wind of this last year, I got quite excited and when I had a chance to play with a drop of it from a sample vial, I tweeted about it without disclosing the brand. This might be the industry's first oil-based foundation. Volatile oils evaporate upon contact with skin to leave a beautiful matte finish. Once again I will report back as soon as I get to use it on a shoot but so far I am impressed.

RRP £36.00 for 30ml.

DiorSkin Nude Skin-Glowing Makeup
This favourite amongst MUAs has been relaunched promising enhanced skin-glowing properties, thanks to velvety translucent pigments, skin beneficial waters and a hydrating
binding agent. I'll report back as soon as I use them but testing on my hands, I'm loving the fluid coverage that looks and feels gorgeous on skin.

RRP £31.00 for 30ml.

As mentioned before I will report on these new additions as soon as I trial them properly on shoots, which means more than just once or twice. Has anyone tried them yet? I'd love to hear from you about how you got on.

  1. Look forward to hearing what you think of the GA foundation; I'm soooo tempted but I have about four great foundations that I need to get through first xx

  2. The GA foundation feels amazing on your hands, but I'd love to see how you get on with it on a shoot. It's definitely a love it or hate it kind of product, judging by the reviews ...

    1. Hey Pinkfish, just used them both on 2 days of heavy shooting. They're incredible foundations, catering for 2 very different skin textures. The Dior is incredibly soft and hydrating so perfect for every skin type except the oily. The Armani ones have a soft, matte finish and better for oilier types. It works best when applied with hands and then buffed off with a brush.

  4. Oh God. Not new foundations. I go crazy about those. I have a "foundation wardrobe" of sorts and I believe that the Dior one is going to make its place alongside my YSL Le teint touche eclat, Chanel Vitalumiere aqua and EL doublewear... I'm waiting for your feedback. Thanks for sharing! XX

    1. Haha sorry. I love both but the Dior one is out of this world! So soft and luminous with sheer but yet good coverage. It might just pop ito 1st place in my kit! x

  5. Oh dear I love everything you wrote about in this post- dying to try the Sisley makeup remover and the GA foundation (OK I am dying to try almost every foundation because I'm a huge foundation junkie) but it's a huge problem getting them here! Reading reviews of the GA foundation is a bit daunting too- there's both love and hate and I can't tell for myself unless I try a sample sadly ugghh. It's not cheap so if it doesn't work for my sensitive skin I'm dead!

I got the Diorskin Nude foundation and am very impressed! Great foundation indeed. I got it together with Guerlain Parure De Lumiere and Dior seems to be performing better for me so far!

    1. Hi Stephanie, as in every kind of makeup and skincare, some will always suits others better than others. The GA foundations are amazing but it tends to lean towards the matte finish so you have to prep skin accordingly. I used it for a beauty shoot recently and it was incredible. I am already a huge fan of the Dior Nude and it would probably count as my top 3 go-to foundations! Thanks so much for taking time to comment. I really appreciate it! x

  6. I love the Dior. It makes me look like I'm not wearing makeup, which is always a winner for me. It's not high end, but the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum is also one of my true loves, for similar reasons.
