I then started working more with colour and soon got distracted by other brands that had bigger and more diversified colour ranges. However her nudes and neutrals always existed in decanted forms in my palettes. So it was such a lovely experience being able to catch up with the lovely Irene and Sophie from the London press office for a much needed recap session. And my my Bobbi Brown has been one busy woman! The core items that catapulted her to fame still exists, much to my relief. I will be honest, I get so busy with work that I seldom make it to shops to see what's new with brands, so I rely heavily on brand catch ups with all the PRs, add on the impossible factor of matching schedules, it's even harder. So without further a do, let's get on with it. There's quite a few things that tickled my fancy and I have cut it down to what applies to me and what I'd like to use in my kit for work.
BB Cream SPF35
Tinted Eye Brightener
Now this just seemed like common sense and a clever product. In 10 shades, this light fluid packs quite a lot of coverage to brighten and cover under eye circles. I haven't tested it on a job but when tested on back of my hand, i loved the high coverage and also it felt satiny without the need of powder. Definitely cannot wait to put this to the test!
Brightening Finishing Powder
2 very pretty powder palettes designed to brighten the complexion. To the left Brightening Nudes with slightly more sheen and the right Porcelain Pearl with it's myriad of colour correcting pastels. I would favour Porcelain Pearl as I try not to have too much shimmer or sheen in my products for shoots. Both very soft and fine-milled. And the Sheer Powder Brush is just a dream, with it's soft bristles and it's beautifully-cut shape to powder only where you want to powder. I love it!
These soft powders come in 5 shades to help balance any concerns when it comes to colour correction. I am not exactly sure how I would use them yet and when it comes to colour correction, I am usually rather apprehensive but these were super fine so they blended to nothing. I would use the yellow and peach to brighten up black skins. Or I would custom mix specific powders for my subjects. Rather exciting to cannot wait to use this on set.
Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick
Promising 8 hours of crease/flake/fade-free performance and in 11 shades, these colour rich sticks feel silky and easy to blend and use. I'm a huge fan of the wetter textures, especially to really get a richly pigmented eye, so these will be perfect to layer with shadows for all those intense eye looks.
So you can see Bobbi Brown has indeed expanded and has managed to keep both consumer and in my humble opinion, more impressively the professional makeup artists happy! Makes me glad that she is still staying true to the roots from which she stems from. I look forward to incorporating all these items into my kit and work. I'd love to hear from anyone who has tried these items.
