Insight my Kit: Brushes

After many requests asking me to post about what I use in terms of brushes, I've finally found the time and succumbed. Brushes are integral to any makeup artist and I'd like to point out that what I use for myself doesn't necessarily mean it's suitable for others. But since you asked, here it is!
These are my babies and forms only a portion of my collection. I am what you can crudely refer to as a brush whore! I simply adore them! I collect them as I travel and develop throughout my career. I cannot and will not feature every single brush but here's a selection of what I find myself using day to day on jobs at the moment. There's quite a few so let's start shall we?

Skin/Complexion Brushes
(L-R) MAC 184 Duo Fibre Fan Brush, MAC 187 Duo Fibre Brush, MAC 188 Small Duo Fibre Brush, Zoeva 102 Silk Finish Face Brush, Zoeva 142 Concealer Buffer, Shu Uemura 18 Brush, Shu Uemura 14 Synthetic Brush, Shu Uemura 10 Synthetic Brush.

These are what I'd call complexion brushes simply because I use them for foundation or perfecting the complexion. Use to stroke, buff, stipple & polish till your desired finish.

Complexion Colour Brushes
(L-R) MAC 168 Large Angled Contour Brush, Daniel Sandler Waterbrush, Old Lancome Duo Fibre Blush Brush, Shiseido Blush Brush.

I use these to add colour to the face so it includes blush, bronzer, contour and highlighter.

Complexion Finishing Brushes
(L-R) SUQQU Face Brush, Bobbi Brown Sheer Powder Brush, Shu Uemura 17 Powder Brush, Wayne Goss No 2 Powder Brush, Stillazi Large Shadow Brush, Paris-Berlin No 30 Blush Dome.

The selection above I use for overall powdering, polishing and spot application of powder products to the face.

Eye/Detail Brushes
(L-R) MAC 217 Blending Brush,  MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush, MAC 231 Small Shader Brush, MAC 219 Pencil Brush, old MAC Angled Brush, MAC 266 Small Angle Brush, Laura Mercier Finishing Eye Brush, old Shu Uemura Brow Brush.
(L-R) Madina Eye Contour Brush, Laura Mercier Eye Crease Travel Brush, Raphael Brushes for the next 6, Shiseido Eye Shadow Brush, SUQQU Eye Shadow Brush F.

These are some of my most used brushes for detail work on eyes. Some of them are not designed for makeup but I've found to be perfect for my techniques.

Lip Brushes

(L-R) Numeric Proof 120, Ruby & Millie Lip Brush, Shu Uemura Lip Brush.

Of all the lip brushes I always keep coming back to these three. They suit my technique and have served me well for years.

So there you go, my most used brushes at this current stage in my career. I have lots more to test and many will make it to my daily routine, many will not. I am sure there will be more undiscovered ones. I hope you've enjoyed this post and I'd love to hear your thoughts so please comment!
